Parliament House is the meeting facility for the House of Representatives and the Senate which form the Commonwealth (Federal) Parliament of Australia. Watch our politicians in action during Question Time as they engage in debates and make important decisions about the health, security, wellbeing and welfare of the people of Australia.

Activities and highlights at Parliament House include:

When the Houses are in session, visitors may view the proceedings of both the House of Representatives and the Senate from the Public Galleries in the Chambers. There are 388 seats available for the public to view proceedings in the House of Representatives Public Galleries at Parliament House.

Question time in the House of Representatives is usually at 2pm each sitting day. Tickets are free and can be booked before 12:45pm on the day they are required by calling +61 (02) 6277 4889. It is not necessary to book to view Question Time in the Senate. At other times when Parliament House is open visitors may visit the Public Galleries.
